In my last post, I asked you which of our new signs you liked best.
It was close, but more of you voted on the Fruits of the Spirit sign than any other!
I think I may have confused some of you dear readers.
I just wanted you to vote in that post and I wanted to offer the give away TODAY
because it's my birthday!
39 and counting down....
It's been a great day of celebrating and feeling extra special. Wanna hear about it?
I got half way through my first cup of coffee before I had to break up an argument between the boys.
In their defense, they've had camp all week, and they are exhausted beyond comprehension.
It's hard work getting up and dressed and out the door before 8am everyday for a week. :)
Andy handed me an envelope with a huge grin on his face.
He was so impressed with himself on this card.
Then, he told me to go to our room for my present.
I still hadn't finished my first cup of coffee, so I didn't know what he had in store!
The man made me a lumbar pillow for our bed out of a burlap coffee sack
from one of our favorite coffee shops in Athens, Two Story.
Can you even believe it?
They gave him one of their sacks, and he washed it and cut it to size and stitched it together with twine.
I love it and the fact that he dug DEEP and MADE it himself makes it even more special.
I left to go watch my boys play for their last day of camp with friends.
They've spent all week at C3, which was hosted by Chick fil a.
Lets just take a minute to say that Chick fil a is the best company EVER.
They gave us all a free lunch at the end of a very wonderful week of camp.
Andy called me at 1230, as we were finishing up our free chick fil a.
He told me to be home by 1 for a treat from someone special.
I had no clue, but I love surprises, so we rushed home!
My parents showed up with this cake in tow!!
6 layers of homemade strawberry cake with strawberry icing.
I grew up with my mom making this cake every year of my life.
She bought this one at this amazing place called cafe 211.
My kids handed me a card and when I opened it, there was another surprise!
A gift certificate to the most amazing Bed & Breakfast fell out.
This place is in Madison, Georgia, and Andy and I are going there next weekend.
We will lay by the pool, enjoy dinner in downtown Madison and uninterrupted conversation.
The Sunflower Festival is that weekend, so I imagine we'll spend our morning perusing the booths!

After my parents left, I went to get my legs rubbed on and my toes painted!
Then, we ended the day in downtown Athens at Depalmas, an amazing Italian restaurant.
All I wanted to eat on my birthday was their apple walnut salad.
Yummo!
It was a wonderful day....39 is off to a fabulous start!
Okay! You've indulged me with looking at all the pictures capturing my birthday.

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I really enjoy your blog and am a quiet follower... well, until you had this sign give away. I absolutely love your family room with the sign above the fireplace (in fact, I pinned it) Anyway, we just finished building our house, which was an unexpected blessing, and I have been practicing patience in many ways with our move to a new area and living in a rental. Our house will also have a lovely fireplace that I am pretty sure the Fruits of the Spirit sign would look amazing on. A great reminder for me and my family of the what God wants to produce in us. ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday dearie! It looks like you had an amazing day! Tell Andy I'm REALLY impressed by his crafting skills :o)
ReplyDeleteA fresh reminder of the fruits of the spirit has been so good for my hot, pregnant self this summer. I wrote them out as artfully as I could on an old chalkboard a few weeks ago. I actually showed my husband your signs and said, "someday, this is exactly the type of sign I would love to replace that old chalkboard, only with the fruits of the spirit rather than the rules, but I think we might have to attempt to make it, because Dave Ramsey might not think it fits into a Gazelle type intensity even if it is the best sign ever." And oh my soul, a giveaway of exactly what I had hoped for someday! And on your happy birthday! I just have to try.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Many Happy Returns!!! L O V E this sign! Would look great in our new home,,,,,,with a lot of "blank" walls!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! It looks like you had an amazing day! : )
